Tournament
Q·Media Services Corp. presented the inaugural Hi-Tech Hoops Basketball Tournament put on by Let's Talk Business Network and the Vancouver Grizzlies. This 3-on-3 tournament for Vancouver's technology community took place on Friday, March 9th at the Grizzlies Training Facility. Each player received a fabulous day of basketball along with a high-end sports bag donated by Q·Media, an event T-shirt, tickets to the reception at DIX BBQ & Brewery hosted by Perry Solkowski, and to the Grizzlies game that night against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The event was a huge success. Pledges were raised for the Grizzlies Foundation and Q·Media Services Corp. graciously matched the funds raised by the tournament. Tom Friesen of ACL Services raised the most pledge money as an individual, and he won personal chef service donated by Craft Dinners Personal Chef Service. The team that raised the most money was the ACL Services Team, the Alphas. They took home 4 white water rafting trips donated by the Canadian Outback Adventure Company.
Whether playing in the competitive or recreational divisions, everyone had a great time. All teams displayed great sportsmanship and spirit. Tournament organizers awarded the Team Spirit award to The Daemons, convertis.com's team. Each team member won a personal trainer session donated by Innovative Fitness.
Twenty-four teams battled hard on the courts to gain their bragging rights. Great division prizes were given out, including plaques and souvenir Hi-Tech Hoops mugs, video games donated by Electronic Arts and floor seats donated by the Grizzlies.
